Following in the wake of “All Things Must Pass” and “The Concert For Bangladesh” in 1973 George Harrison‘s “Living In The Material World” seemed destined to become a successful effort – and it was, spearheaded by the “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)” single and offering quite a few more memorable songs. Of course, it was also destined to receive a 50th Anniversary deluxe box set treatment – only there has been a delay, even though last year didn’t feel too saturated with the Fabs’ products. Whatever the reason, the fresh edition will hit the shelves on November 15th.

What most fans are bound to get on that date is a two-disc version of the album, on CD or LP, with one disc containing a new mix done by Paul Hicks and the other in-progress versions of the record’s tracks in the same running order as well as a single cut and a number George penned for Ringo’s eponymous platter. What the financially unchallenged aficionados would go for, though, is a limited edition Super Deluxe Edition box in which the same discs, in both CD and LP variants, are accompanied by a Blu-ray with exactly the same audio content – in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes yet no in original mix – plus an exclusive 7″ single of the aforementioned Starr-targeted piece “Sunshine Life For Me (Sail Away Raymond)” that features the drummer himself and THE BAND without Richard Manuel, and a 60-page hardcover book, all hardly justifying the price. But then, a double-disc “World” is essential.
