FOREIGNER: back to square “4”

With many a classic behind their collective belt, FOREIGNER‘s finest hour, in public eye, was and remains 1981’s “4”. That album signaled the band’s move from melodious experimentation to solid AOR sound which manifested itself in massive sales and chart presence. A few of the record’s golden splinters has always been in the ensemble’s live repertoire, as witnessed earlier this year by DME, but it was less than three weeks ago, on October 3rd and 4th, on an Atlantic City stage, that the septet – founding member Mick Jones on guitar, vocalist Kelly Hansen, bassist and producer Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, sax player Tom Gimbel, guitarist Bruce Watson and drummer Chris Frazier – laid down most of “4” and more crowd faves live for an album called “The Best OfForeigner 4 & More” which is to be out on December 5th.

A variety of formats can be claimed with a Pledge campaign, while Germany will receive an exclusive, boxed version of the record, yet it’s only an ephemeral addition to the great performances on it.
