Jan Schelhaas Issues Long-Overdue Fourth Solo Album

Over the last year, Jan Schelhaas released quite a few interesting tracks, including his collaborative efforts with artists he worked with in the past: Andy Latimer, Phil Lynott and Jimmy Hastings – but now the keyboard wizard has finally put out, via Bandcamp, an entire album, a long-overdue follow-up to “Ghosts Of Eden” from 2018. Titled “Vandals” and comprising the whopping sixteen pieces, it’s a sort of anthology, with material spanning more than half a century but brought to fruition only recently.

“It’s been really quite cathartic putting this one together as these tracks cover more than fifty years of writing, with the earliest written in 1972,” says Jan. “All of the sixteen tracks have all survived on demos, cassettes etcetera right through to the present day. I’m surprised, yet thankful, that they do still seem to belong together, which I can only put down to them being re-recorded and mastered together over the last year on the same gear. Anyway, I hope you like ‘Vandals’ – that particular track was dedicated to the war on homelessness.”
