Unlike fans of many other artists, Joe Jackson‘s followers never had to worry about a long wait for their favorite performer’s next album, the longest gap in this singer’s studio discography numbering five years, and even that period was broken by the release of a live record. So those who were eager to hear where he would land after the imaginary music hall of 2023’s “What A Racket!” will relatively soon receive an answer to such a question. The veteran’s new endeavor, titled “Hope And Fury” and comprising nine tracks, is to appear in the stores on April 10th, 2026.
Laid down in Berlin and New York, this platter finds Joe in his element, if with a stylistic twist he describes as “Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock” – and that’s as good a characteristic for Jackson’s urban pop as any other epithet his nostalgic oeuvre deserves. So the album as a whole must be good too.
