John Verity Unlocks His Lockdown Sessions

One can only wonder why John Verity is not as popular as he deserves to be and is mostly known by his stint with ARGENT when his own discography holds a staggering cache of great songs and features elite players. Still active, the veteran’s albums are out there for everybody to start exploring, but if anyone’s in need of crash course on all things Verity, John has just recently released an original sampler of what he’s been about for decades: a collection of pieces recorded during the pandemic.

JOHN VERITY –
Lockdown Sessions

Of course, it’s not the first offering of the sort – perhaps, it’s one of the last – but “Lockdown Sessions” is an interesting comp, as it contains John’s voice and guitar laid down, in real time, over backing tracks from his studio records such as 2000’s “Passion” – apart, apparently, from “Hold Your Head Up” which, naturally, is a classic from the aforementioned band’s repertoire. Initially Verity issued those cuts for members of a private group on Faceboo only to decide, later on, that there were more fans eager to listen to what he did.
