With its 55th anniversary looming large on the horizon, it’s about time KING CRIMSON‘s most exquisite “Lizard” album saw an expanded reissue. Indeed, on October 24th the classic platter will be out in the CD / Blu-ray format which, in the wake of the ensemble’s multi-disc box sets, started with the celebratory edition of " In The Court Of The Crimson King" and was followed by "Larks and "Red" re-releases.
As usual there are Steven Wilson‘s stereo and surround-sound remixes and David Singleton’s alternative view of the platter – the latter, Elemental Mixes, also to be available on a standalone vinyl LP – but there also complete sessions, so the look into this stunning work’s genesis – with, presumably, the yet-unheard Jon Anderson‘s vocals revealed for the first time – promises to be rather deep. (Read the review.) On the same day, a similar "In The Wake Of Poseidon" package will hit the shelves, too, yet that seems less interesting.
