Punk Veterans Venerate PINK FLOYD

There was a time when punk artists used to despise prog ensembles, considering the latter dinosaurs, but, seeing how many of the former have been roaming the earth for more than four decades, there’s really no difference between Mesozoic and Jurassic rock periods now. Still, it’s rather surprising to see a special sort of tribute album, a homage to PINK FLOYD, is being readied for release on April 12th.

What’s not so surprising is that the record is titled “Punk Floyd” and has more than a third of its cuts sourced from the Syd Barrett era of the band’s existence – but then, what can on expect from the likes of THE VIBRATORS and THE QUEERS? At the same time it would be interesting to hear “The Wall” classics “Another Brick In The Wall (Part Two)” and “Comfortably Numb” taken on by, respectively, ANGRY SAMOANS and U.K. SUBS. while “Time” is logically interpreted by Jah Wobble and Jon Klein. Of the multiple records dedicated to PF material, this may turn out most alluring. Read the review.
