Rock Veterans Meddle With PINK FLOYD’s Lesser Classic

It would have been silly to think that, once PINK FLOYD‘s four primary ’70s albums got covered by elite players on the likes of "Still Wish You Were Here" and "Animals Reimagined" which gave a new spin to the very much familiar material, such tributes would stop. And while it would be stupid to think that the quartet’s later platters deserve a similar treatment, the same can’t be said about their earlier records. Which is why “Meddle Reimagined” – slated for release on September 1st – seems rather interesting.

When this homage’s first cut was out, DME wondered: “Whether it’s a precursor to a new full-length project remains to be seen” – and now the answer is affirmative, with a lot of luminaries, the legendary Bootsy Collins among them, going for prog jugular on “Echoes” and other “Meddle” classics.
