SPIRITS BURNING’s Don Falcone Publishes Autobiography

Having a plethora of international talent on one’s project is commonplace nowadays, yet establishing a lasting friendship with the guest musicians is not, so the stunning number of prominent artists – almost three hundred – across the score of SPIRITS BURNING albums speaks volumes about Don Falcone‘s affability and the allure of his concepts. With former members of HAWKWIND and BLUE ÖYSTER CULT taking part in the likes of "The End Of All Songs" where Michael Moorcock provides content, there are quite a lot stories the American can tell – and will tell in “One Of The Spirits Burning (A Musical Memoir)” which will be issued on January 14th.

This 536-page tome, given a Moorcock-penned foreword, goes beyond simple autobiography, although Falcone offers an honest account of his life – both as a human being and as a producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist… and technical writer for Pro Tools and Dolby Atmos content creation tools. Of course, the reader should want to focus on Don’s collaborations with Daevid Allen and other luminaries, and that’s why there are special entries by more than ten dozens of those who contributed to SPIRIT BURNING records, whose list includes Albert Bouchard, Buck Dharma and Bridget Wishart – alongside full discography with descriptions of each Falcone-guided full-length releases.

This is not all, though: there’s also a CD attached to the book, with pieces featuring the aforementioned Dharma, Bouchard and Moorcock, as well Cyrille Verdeaux and Kim Cascone, as well as an unreleased song with David Jackson, and two demo cuts from Don’s early ensembles. Feels interesting to say the least.
