Despite the widely publicized fact that TOTO fans should not hold their breath for the band’s fresh album – there will be none anymore – they still will have something breathtaking to listen to soon: proving he’s dyed yet not dyed-in-the-wool, the collective’s guitarist Steve Lukather releases a new solo record on June 16th – titled “Bridges” and featuring quite a few of his former colleagues.
Seeing the platter’s gist as a link between his personal oeuvre and that of collective, Luke invited into the studio not only singer Joseph Williams and keyboardist David Paich to co-pen the majority of pieces, but also another ivories master, Steve Maggiora, plus drummers Simon Phillips and Shannon Forrest, and bassist Lee Sklar, as well as Jorgen Carlsson of GOV’T MULE and Trev Lukather, Steve’s son and another TOTO associate. Sounds teasing – and the video below confirms it.
