THE ROLLING STONES Strip It To The Bone

Back in 1995, it was a quiet furore when THE ROLLING STONES – a band known for their deliberate raucousness – released “Stripped”: the album seemed to be their venture into unplugged territory, with notable exceptions where electric charge felt necessary. Broadcasted around that time, a TV documentary on the album didn’t receive as much exposure as it deserved, while additional material, recorded then, landed on the “More Stripped” bootleg and appealed to the core fans. Now, though, a whole bonanza is coming our way – although what’s titled “Totally Stripped” will be initially released only in Japan, on Ma 20th, with bonuses and an impressive price tag if one’s willing to go for a maximal pleasure.

It doesn’t make sense, though, to limit the experience to a basic edition, where DVD contains a 90-minute expanded documentary. Much better is a deluxe version, with CD – a selections of three shows which went into the “Stripped” project – complementing the video. A genuine delight must be a super deluxe which adds to the aforementioned discs another 3 DVDs (or Blu-rays) with a full concert per disc, and a bonus CD – as well as 2LP, T-shirts and memorabilia that are really for super aficionados.

Hopefully, the package gets an out-of-Japan release later on, and would be priced reasonably, as were “Four Flicks” and “The Biggest Bang” sets. As for the full breakdown of what’s in the new collection, it looks like this:
