They were not an overnight sensation – it had taken THIN LIZZY half a decade of toil, trouble and tribulation to take on the world, but 1976 saw the Irish ensemble finally getting to the top where they belonged once getting transformed from to a foursome from the original trio a couple of years earlier and tirelessly working on creating a perfect blend of urban and traditional mythology. This alchemical wedding happened over the course of two albums released within a seven-month span, which is why September 27th is to see “Jailbreak” and “Johnny The Fox” issued within a single box set.
These classics will be made available separately, on vinyl, in freshly remixed versions and featuring updated variants of Jim Fitzpatrick’s iconic artwork, yet, of course, it’s a unified packaging that’s most alluring for fans who are bound – especially for a relatively customer-friendly price – to like having on CD not only the 2024 stereo remixes but also remasters of both platters’ original mixes, a generous serving of outtakes, a smattering of Beeb recordings, and a previously unheard concert, as well as, on Blu-ray, ATMOS upgrades of familiar favorites, and a 40-page booklet.
There will be a standalone Blu-ray, a Super Deluxe Edition exclusive, where the box set’s disc content is expanded with the records’ instrumental versions.
