KING CRIMSON Celebrate Semicentennial Anniversary Of “Red”

Given the success that the 50th Anniversary Edition of "Larks' Tongues In Aspic" found with KING CRIMSON aficionados, there’s been little doubt as to whether the band’s tremendous “Red” – their only album to match the punch of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" – would see a similar treatment when its time came. So, while the absence of “Starless And Bible Black” from the reissue schedule should is surprising enough, the plans to put out a new variant of its follow-up on October 11th are not.

It might interest even those who enjoy delving into the massive “The Road To Red” box set from 2013 because, apart from another bunch of mixes from Steven Wilson, there are some prepared by David Singleton, alongside the yet-unspecified session recordings, with one of the two Blu-rays – that accompany a couple of CDs – featuring no less than five previously non-issued contemporary concerts and no less than three mixes of the band’s “USA” album. There will also be a 2LP version, with 2024 stereo mixes on one platter and elemental mixes on the other. With sleeve-notes by the esteemed Sid Smith, the package looks alluring. As for tracklistings, they are to be added to this page once available.
