When GURU GURU left the stage of Karlstorbahnhof, in Heidelberg, on December 12th, 2015, they couldn’t have known it was the Krautrock veterans’ last performance with guitarist Hans Reffert who passed away two months later, aged 69. They might not even realize the significance of the recording made that night when releasing, back in 2016, Blu-ray and DVD of the show – but they surely became aware of its historic value by now. which is why the appearance of “Live In Concert” in two-CD-and DVD as well as triple-LP variants feels more than welcome.
Offered in its entirety, with video disc presenting an uncut document with bonus material, it’s a great report from the past, with classic numbers like “Ooga Booga Special” from 1972’s “Känguru” delivered alongside such latter-day pieces as “Elektrolurch Mutation” off 2023’s "The Incredible Universe" that found the German ensemble in the company of Arthur Brown. A worthy addition to their discography, this set is out now.
