Unlike Vincent Furnier who assumed the name of his band to become Alice Cooper, Brinsley Schwarz may have found it quite difficult to become a solo artist outside of the group which used to bear his name, and it wasn’t until 2016 that the British guitarist released the tellingly titled “Unexpected” album. Continued with “Tangled” in 2021, the veteran’s discography has just been updated with a third entry: out on November 14th, “Shouting At The Moon” is his most impressive opus to date.
Humorous and serious in equal parts, the record consists of nine cuts that sound as arresting as anything the aforementioned ensemble did, so it’s so good to see the pub-rock luminary in such a great form.
