No matter what BLACK SABBATH fans expect from Tony Iommi to tackle next in terms of the band’s reissue programme, the release of "Anno Domini: 1989-1995" package, which included most of the Tony Martin era’s material, should have warned them that waiting for expansions of “Master Of Reality” or “Born Again” might be a little bit pointless. Indeed, what will arrive on March 27th doesn’t have anything to do with the gaps in the veterans’ box sets line: titled “Breaking Out Of Heaven: 2007-2009” and spread over four CDs and a Blu-ray, with seven-LP version offered too, it’s an entire output of HEAVEN & HELL.
Sadly, Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice put out only one album under this name, “The Devil You Know” from 2009, yet there were two concert reports from the foursome, 2007’s “Live From Radio City Music Hall” and “Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell” – alternatively known as “Live In Europe” and “Live At Wacken” – from 2010. All of these recordings are here, with a few bonuses and extras – but there’s nothing previously unheard, and such cuts as “The Next Time” which have been popping up on bootlegs remain in the vaults. In any case, having everything refreshed, upscaled and accompanied by a book with liner notes, a replica tour book and poster should feel good.
