Folk Rock Veterans HOME SERVICE Deliver “A Live Transmission”

Always in flux, HOME SERVICE may have come to be as a side project of ALBION BAND, yet they swiftly acquired their own identity – no mean feat on the British folk scene – and retain it despite the presence of not one but three GRYPHON members, guitarist Graeme Taylor, reedman Andy Findon and bassist Rob Levy, in the band’s current line-up. Founded in 1980 and reformed in 2011, the ensemble crafted only one studio album since the comeback, and it’s from 2016’s “A New Ground” that the veterans derive one piece on their forthcoming concert offering, alongside material off the collective’s ’80s platters and cuts which appeared on their previous on-stage documents.

But what’s different about “A Live Transmission” that will be issued on August 30th is an appearance in the group’s ranks of Bob Fox, who’s a well-known artist in his own right. Given the quality of output from these musicians, in their various endeavors in the last years, new HOME SERVICE delivery may make a lot of aficionados salivate. Read the review.
