HORSLIPS’ Sum Up What They Did On BBC

They may have bowed out more than two years ago, but HORSLIPS‘ legacy lives on, because the interest in the Irish ensemble’s mélange of heavy riffs, folk motifs and progressive adventurousness doesn’t seem to be diminishing. If anybody needs any proof of it, the almost immediate unavailability of "More Than You Can Chew" – a massive box set, which was out in 2022 – is exactly that. Still, another multi-disc collection, scheduled to appear on May 30th, is bound to engage more fans thanks to both the affordable price and no “limited edition” tag attached.

Yet of course, it’s music that most alluring here, as the four CDs and a DVD titled “At The BBC” span 1973 to 2019 and include such rare recordings as the band’s unplugged session from 2010 and their 2011 concert in Belfast with the Ulster Orchestra – as well as working mixes of 1979’s “Short Stories, Tall Tales” album. Essential.
