The beginning of March 2014 will see a new record by the legendary Jack Bruce, one the best rock singers and a bassist extraordinaire. The veteran’s been visiting Abbey Road for the last two weeks to properly lay down the tracks he’d worked out at his home studio with his son, Malcolm Bruce, a fine musician in his own right. Yet Bruce Jr. won’t be the only guest on Jack’s album, produced by Rob Cass and to be out on Esoteric.
Never averse to having friends on his recordings, including a certain guitarist from CREAM, this time among those who play on Jack Bruce’s new album are the fellow members of his SPECTRUM ROAD supergroup, pianist John Medeski of MEDESKI MARTIN AND WOOD fame and drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, the wife of Carlos, as well as Bruce’s old friends and colleagues, guitarists Robin Trower and Uli Jon Roth. They’ve already weaved their magic on Bruce’s tracks, but the guest list is to be continued.
