It’s been more than a decade since John Lees’ BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST released "North" which was followed by a couple of concerts documents but saw no studio sequel, so quite a few fans assumed that album to represent a final chapter in the ensemble’s history. However, nearing the band’s six-decade anniversary, the veteran’s came up with more than impressive set of fresh pieces, and their new platter, titled “Relativity” and demonstrating a loose concept, will arrive on October 17th.
The 78-minute opus, to be made available on CD and vinyl, was produced by Stephen W Tayler – who also prepared a surround mix which lands on a Blu-ray as part of limited package, where there’s also a second auuio disc, with numbers from the group’s 2009 show with the late Woolly Wolstenholme on keyboards – so it promises to deliver a lot of delights on sonic and melodic fronts alike.
