While most progressive rockers are quite content to be working around the templates outlined decades ago, Kavus Torabi remains one of those musicians who steadfastly refuses to forfeit is adventurousness, be it with GONG, from "I See You""I See You" onwards, KNIFEWORLD or other projects he’s been involved in. And then there’s the Brit’s solo career, which started with “Hip To The Jag” in 2020 and developed with 2024’s “The Banishing” before moving to form a trilogy with the forthcoming release of “October By Name” on, well, October 2nd.
“Increasingly, I’m becoming more solipsistic, going further into my own world creatively. As long as the bubble I’m in keeps giving me songs, I’m OK with that. Honestly, every one I get over the line, that still excites, thrills and engages me is a blessing”: this is how Torabi describes his current approach.
