LITTLE FEAT Host LARKIN POE On Long-Overdue Fresh Platter

Just when it seemed that LITTLE FEAT had comfortably settled down in their legacy ensemble status – which wasn’t in any way disturbed by the "Sam's Place" album they released last year, with a single original piece sitting alongside blues standards, – the veterans are finally ready to announce a proper successor to “Rooster Rag” from 2012. Titled “Strike Up The Band” and comprised of fresh material, their next platter will hit the shelves on May 9th.

Recorded by the same line-up as their previous offering, it features a few guests, and if the presence of Robert Hunter as a lyricist of “Bluegrass Pines” isn’t surprising – the former GRATEFUL DEAD poet co-wrote several cuts on the aforementioned 2012’s LP – three country singers contributing to this track is. Still, it’s the titular number that’s bound to attract most of those who never listened to FEAT, because there are LARKIN POE on there, bolstering the song’s allure. Interesting.
