Ex-Hawkwinder Niall Hone’s LORDS OF FORM Turn Hypnotic

July 22, 2024

Given the expanse of the HAWKWIND family, it’s hardly surprising to be discovering a fresh project from one or the other former member of this ensemble – a project which, more often than not, bears a passing sonic resemblance to the mothership. Steered by bassist Niall Hone – whose presence is stamped on the likes of "The Machine Stops"LORDS OF FORM have been roaming the space for a few years now, and the recently released “Hypnotise The World” is their third album. Gregg Allman’s Archival Concert Up For Release

July 21, 2024

Gregg Allman‘s career outside of his fraternal endeavors may have spanned more than four decades yet, surprisingly, it yielded only two official concert recordings – even though the veteran toured quite a lot for many years. This is why “Uncle Sam’s” – credited to GREGG ALLMAN BAND and documenting his concert at the titular venue in Hull, MA, on July 1st, 1983 – is of historic value. For all the exhaustiveness of Rory Gallagher‘s expanded reissues, the late guitarist’s studio sessions can never be of such interest as his stage recordings, because it’s before the audience that the great Irishman truly used to come alive. Yet while there are quite a few of his concert albums making rounds, any new archive find raises a furor among Rory’s connoisseurs, which is “The BBC Collection” that will see the light of day on October 11th as a package of 18 CDs and two Blu-ray discs, as well as triple LP and a double-CD sets, must become a cause for celebration.

Fast Eddie Clarke Box Set To Feature Unheard MOTÖRHEAD Demos

July 18, 2024

One of most underrated, if influential anyway, guitarists, Fast Eddie Clarke‘s life has long deserved a proper exploration within and beyond his tenures with MOTÖRHEAD and FASTWAY, the life cut short in 2018 when the British artist passed away at the age of 67. Some might even say it was lives – for Clarke raged through the years according to his moniker before reverting to blues, which Eddie always loved, in the later stages of his earthly existence. It’s great, then, to see that there’s a deluxe anthology of the veteran’s oeuvre planned for release on September 6th.
