John McLaughlin Releases Soundtrack For “Abandoned Heights”

November 27, 2025

Not a novice in the world of movie scores, John McLaughlin isn’t exactly famous for such endeavors, the guitarist’s sole previous effort in this niche being his work, with Trilok Gurtu, on “Molom: A Legend of Mongolia” back in 1995. Three decades further down the line, however, the legendary fusioneer came up with “Music For Abandoned Heights” to enhance the titular drama’s action, and January 9th, 2026 will see this opus issued.

November 26, 2025

Carl Dixon is a legend in Canada, but the singer’s fame has long since crossed over his country’s frontiers, and this artist’s six solo albums – in addition to those he recorded with CONEY HATCH are well loved in the melodic rock world. Still a force to be reckoned with – as this scribe can confirm after seeing the band onstage a little more than a month ago, when the veterans performed an unplugged show to celebrate the 40th-anniversary reissue of their debut platter – Carl’s cache of songs is immense, and it’s no wonder that a six-CD box set will soon reveal the brilliance of Dixon’s unreleased material.

Brinsley Schwarz Cries For The Skies On Third Solo Album

November 23, 2025

Unlike Vincent Furnier who assumed the name of his band to become Alice Cooper, Brinsley Schwarz may have found it quite difficult to become a solo artist outside of the group which used to bear his name, and it wasn’t until 2016 that the British guitarist released the tellingly titled “Unexpected” album. Continued with “Tangled” in 2021, the veteran’s discography has just been updated with a third entry: out on November 14th, “Shouting At The Moon” is his most impressive opus to date.
