SPLIT ENZ Launch Box-Set-Based Reissue Programme

One of the greatest New Zealand exports, SPLIT ENZ may have stopped recording more than forty years ago, but they’re still loved enough to stage a reunion once in a while, and the Finn brothers are still riding high. No wonder, then, that the veterans decided to mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut album by starting reissue programme. Bearing the title of “ENZyclopedia” and getting underway with the “Volumes One & Two” box set on November 14th, it’s supposed to shine a fresh light on the collective’s legacy.

Martin Barre, Michael Sadler And Other Stars Grace Live “Excalibur” Album

There’s no shortage of guest-strewn rock operas many of which are created via remote contributions from most of the musicians, and for this reason Alan Simon’s “Excalibur” saga has always stood apart from the rest. More so, the French composer not only brings the stellar talent into the studio with him but also take them onstage from time to time, and that was what happened on August 15th, 2019 at Motocultor Festival in Saint-Nolff, where the project’s two-decade anniversary got celebrated in style. And now a recording of the Bretagne show is available on CD.

TEN YEARS AFTER Go “Ssssh” Again

It was a little wonder that TEN YEARS AFTER‘s third studio broke into Top 20 in the “Billboard” charts: “Ssssh” was the British band’s first longplay which saw the light of day just a month after their triumphant performance at Woodstock. Comprising seven Alvin Lee originals and a cover of Sonny Boy Williamson’s perennial, that album still sounds great, yet somehow remains underrated by many listeners – only this situation is about to be remedied on October 31st with the appearance of the classic’s expanded variant.

New Box Set Covers John Lennon’s New York Adventures

As this scribe suggested as far back as in last February – and was confirmed by Sean Lennon in his comment to that suggestion on X – the “Power To The People” EP that hit the shelves on Record Store Day and the “One to One: John & Yoko” film that also saw its premiere in April will indeed be followed by a box set documenting the two shows John Lennon and Yoko Ono played at “Madison Square Garden” on August 30th, 1972 as part of “One to One” benefit concerts.

ATOMIC ROOSTER Reach For The Sun On All-New Album

It’s been nine years that ATOMIC ROOSTER returned to stay. With a blessing from Vincent Crane’s widow, guitarist Steve Bolton recruited singer Peter French, as the two were in the band in 1971-1972, although the line-up featuring both of them didn’t last long, but the veterans parted company in 2023. French left to work on a new LEAF HOUND platter, yet Bolton and the rest of the ensemble persevered, and October 10th will see them release the first ROOSTER studio album since “Headline News” which saw the light of day as far back as 1983.
