PINK FLOYD Reissue Pompeii Report In Steven Wilson’s Remix

More than five decades after its original appearance, “Live At Pompeii” remains one of the most documents of classic PINK FLOYD performances – recorded shortly before the British ensemble became a worldwide music machine. Over the years, the Adrian Maben movie, and its soundtrack, have seen a few reissues, but now the most glorious resurgence of it all is planned for release – as a double-CD, double-LP (the first time ever in this format), streaming, Blu-ray and DVD, all featuring new mixes by Steven Wilson, including 5.1 and Dolby Atmos – on May 2nd.

STATUS QUO Drill Into “Live!” For Deluxe Box Set

It may be a bad, bad, bad practice, milking their fans, but, a decade after STATUS QUO‘s “Live!” was expanded into a four-CD set, with two discs dedicated to this on-stage classic and other two given to previously unreleased shows from Australia and Japan, a second boxed collection, this time blown up to eight platters, is scheduled to hit the shelves.

Interview with Derek Moore (NEKTAR)

There were a few English ensembles who formed in Germany and didn’t quite fit in the other music markets, leaving a scarce legacy of cult classics, yet NEKTAR beat the odds and not only made a name for themselves in the UK and the USA, but also created a solid body of work which the band keep on adding to five-and-a-half decades after they started. The last founding member standing and carrying the burden of the past on his broad shoulders, Derek “Mo” Moore doesn’t mind, though – and our conversation reflects the bassist’s joie de vivre.

Bill Fay Passed Away

If, for some artists, “legend” is a common-place signifier, for Bill Fay it’s a plan-truth descriptor. Most people presumed the singer-songwriter dead when, after his two albums – the self-titled 1970 debut and the following year’s “Time Of The Last Persecution” – were released, Fay dropped from everybody’s radar only to resurface in 2007, when, thanks to WILCO’s Jeff Tweedy, who was fascinated by Bill’s apocalyptic vision, first covered the veteran’s song and then brought him back to the stage. But now there’s no doubt in the Englishman’s demise, as he passed away in London on February 21st at the age of 81.

Jon Camp’s Posthumous Mini-Album Prepared For Release

When writing about the great Jon Camp‘s untimely passing two and a half months, this scribe erroneously assumed that the former RENAISSANCE bass player didn’t succeed in coming up with a solo album, simply because he had no time – yet, as it became clear almost immediately, he did. And though most of the material the veteran recorded might be lost to us, five pieces that form the 20-minute-plus EP titled “Interlude” must be made available around March 1st.
