Russ Ballard Is Back With New Songs And New Takes On His Hits

An entire decade has passed since Russ Ballard first released the “It’s Good To Be Here” album – which took another five years to appear on physical medium – so the veteran’s new material was long overdue, and this record will eventually arrive on April 25th to re-establish the British musician’s credentials as one of the greatest songwriters of all times. To be issued as a double-shot offering, “Songs From The Warehouse / The Hits Rewired” consists, as its title suggests, of two discs, one corralling the artist’s freshly concocted pieces and the other featuring recent takes on his classics.

Robin Trower Plays Hide-And-Seek On New Record

It’s been a decade and a half since Robin Trower released the “The Playful Heart” where a piece titled “Find Me” had the pride of place, and now the legendary guitarist seems to be carrying on playing the same game on his forthcoming album. Titled “Come And Find Me” and scheduled for release on April 25th, its artwork is following the graphic theme of Trower’s previous platters, starting with the aforementioned one, and its first single “A Little Bit Of Freedom” (watch the lyric video below) will undoubtedly remind Robin’s fans of “Little Bit Of Sympathy” which firmly established the English musician as a solo performer fifty years ago.

Seeing Rik Emmett solely as a former guitarist of TRIUMPH would mean to severely underestimate the Torontonian’s talents that span more than mere composing and performing of memorable melodies, the point which came to prominence even before he published a memoir titled “Lay It On The Line” – the veteran’s book of poetry, called “Reinvention” and preceding his autobiography appeared two years earlier – and which becomes a focus of a new paperback, called “Ten Telecaster Tales: Liner Notes for a Guitar and Its Music” and scheduled to see the light of day on March 25th.
