More than five decades after its original appearance, “Live At Pompeii” remains one of the most documents of classic PINK FLOYD performances – recorded shortly before the British ensemble became a worldwide music machine. Over the years, the Adrian Maben movie, and its soundtrack, have seen a few reissues, but now the most glorious resurgence of it all is planned for release – as a double-CD, double-LP (the first time ever in this format), streaming, Blu-ray and DVD, all featuring new mixes by Steven Wilson, including 5.1 and Dolby Atmos – on May 2nd.
Digitally remastered in 4K from the original 35 mm film, “PINK FLOYD – Live At Pompeii: MCMLXXII” will also make it to cinemas, on April 24th, so there’s a lot to enjoy, what with the soundtrack being speed-corrected and augmented with a couple bonus tracks.
