They have been laying down rockabilly licks for 48 years now, first in London and then in New York, influencing THE STRAY CATS and opening for KISS but keeping their profile low enough for people who forgot that THE ROCKATS used to prance with a swagger on MTV with “Make That Move” back in 1984. Still, the last time they were heard of was in 2013, when “Rockin’ Together” saw the release – the situation which will be remedied with the issue of the suitably titled “Start Over Again” on September 9th.
Eight years in the works, the platter that’s to be out on CD and vinyl features – alongside founding member Smutty Smiff on contrabass and longtime guitarists Danny B. Harvey and Barry Ryan, and singer Dibbs Preston – the legendary BLONDIE drummer Clem Burke, helping his friends to deliver an incendiary set of a dozen cuts including “Lucky Old Rockabilly” which was inspired by Carl Perkins and “Rock Around With Ollie Vee” from Buddy Holly’s repertoire. Gotta be cool- as everything these kats do. Read the review.
