A few months ago, when the news arrived of Mark Murdock launching another project, EMPIRE IN RUINS, to continue what he started as a drummer of Peter Banks’ EMPIRE and his own THE NEW EMPIRE, it seemed like a one-off endeavor, its “Mark V” title suggesting simply that and nothing more. However, February 12th saw the release of its follow-up, “Mark VI: Lament Of The Colossus” – available digitally – where Murdock plays all the instruments on his pieces, apart from guitars which are handled by Mark’s regular collaborator Fernando Perdomo.
