Back in the ’90s, it was financially difficult to follow Frank Zappa CD reissues that Ryko seemed to be churning out on a monthly basis, and recently history has been repeating in this regard, although with lesser frequency. Only in June, his “Apostrophe” album was out as a box set, and now the 50th Anniversary deluxe edition of “One Size Fits All” is ready to be shipped on August 1st.
One Size Fits All
There’s a lot of interesting things on the four CD and Blu-ray, although the classic platter wasn’t freshly remastered: what occupies most of the first disc comes from Bob Ludwig’s 2012 efforts. However, working versions of the record’s cuts, outtakes and concert material more than compensate the absence of new sonic upgrade in stereo – as opposed to surround mixes which will attract a lot of fans who should also love a couple of videos recently edited for the first time since 1974.
