Expanded now to four CDs to form “The Complete Budokan 1978” box set and getting an alternative 2LP treatment as “Another Budokan 1978” album, this gem has a release date set for November 17th.
One of the finest Bob’s live recordings, the “Budokan” tapes that feature not only a stunning repertoire but also a stellar band whose ranks included the great rhythm section of bassist Rob Stoner and Ian Wallace have a lot more pieces than made it onto the vinyl back in the day, so there’s a lot of previously unheard performances. Freshly remixed, they sound amazing, with the deluxe version packed with such contextual ephemera as facsimiles of concert tickets, pamphlets, posters, and flyers, alongside a 60-page full-color photo book with extensive liner notes. Almost irresistible!
