While Ritchie Blackmore’s resurrection of RAINBOW is a one-off (or three-off) enterprise, you can always rely on the band’s alumni to get involved in some kind of endeavor, especially when it comes to singers. If Joe Lynn Turner‘s latest efforts include not only a scandal around a certain release but also an archival live tape – details on which will come in a little later – Graham Bonnet and Doogie White took part in new recordings: the former – who’s readying an album by his own ensemble – laid down a vocal for a Finnish group WISHING WELL, and the latter for his old combo LA PAZ.
White was one of LA PAZ founders back in 1984 and returned to the fold when the band got back together in 2009. Now they’re to follow 2013’s "The Dark And The Light" with “Shut Up And Rawk”: scheduled for April 8th issue, it’s a slice of heavier-than-classic hard rock which runs like this:
1. Light The Fire
2. Heart Of Stone
3. No Place In Heaven
4. The Revenge Of El Guapo
5. A Certain Song
6. Retribution Blues
7. Daughter Of Time
8. The Prize
9. Faith Hope And Love
10. Throw Me To The Wolves
11. Miss Dynamite
12. Book Of Shadows
Much less famous, WISHING WELL have their debut, “Chasing Rainbows,” in the pipeline, slated for February 5th release. With enough vocal power in their own ranks, the group, deeply rooted in the ’70s rock, decided to rope in Graham Bonnet for the first single, “Hippie Heart Gypsy Soul,” in order to best demonstrate the ensemble’s abilities: quite impressive.
