As we reported before, Mike Oldfield, not being the one to rest on the laurels in celebration of the “Tubular Bells” 40th anniversary, has a new album ready. Laid down with a mighty rhythm section of Leland Sklar and John Robinson, who broke the news to DME, and featuring THE STRUTS’ Luke Spiller on vocals, “On The Rocks” might be a commercial overload – it follows in the wake of the “Crises” and “Five Miles Out” recent reissues and it’ll be out on January 27th, 2014, also possibly with a deluxe edition alongside a regular one – but it’s bound to be a treat.
It’s a song-based collection of pieces, rather than a large concept work, and it’s regular CD and vinyl editions are comprised of the following tracks:
- Sailing
- Moonshine
- Man On The Rocks
- Castaway
- Minutes
- Dreaming In The Wind
- Nuclear
- Chariots
- Following The Angels
- Irene
- I Give Myself Away
