Back in 1970 and back in England, PINK FLOYD could be considered part of psychedelic underground but across the Pond the quartet were able to fill such famous venue as San Francisco’s “Fillmore West” – and they did so on April 29th. That night the foursome performed a glorious concert where the crowd reveled in listening to epics like “A Saucerful Of Secrets” – all 22 minutes of it – and “The Amazing Pudding” which would soon become “Atom Heart Mother” and give the title to the band’s next album, as well as “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun” which is the title of the ensemble’s forthcoming live record. Scheduled for March 4th, 2022 release, “The Heart Of The Sun” shouldn’t be mistaken with similarly named bootlegs; and it has much quality, being digitally remastered.
Spread across two discs, the live document will provide a unique aural view of the prog giants and might be indispensable not only for their aficionados.
