It may seem so simple to associate Patrick Leonard strictly with Madonna’s success – as a producer of the singer’s best albums and co-writer of such hits as “Like A Prayer” and “La Isla Bonita” – only this would mean severely underestimate his rock credentials which are plenty. The American musician co-penned, with David Gilmour, and played on “Yet Another Movie” for PINK FLOYD and co-wrote with Robbie Robertson “Skinwalker” for the guitarist’s own platter and “Broken Arrow” for Rod Stewart’s one; he worked on Roger Waters‘ “Amused To Death” and “This Left Feels Right” by BON JOVI; he oversaw a couple of cuts FLEETWOOD MAC added to their “The Chain” box set and, surprisingly, delivered keyboards on “There Comes A Time” for Ken Hensley who was no mean ivories driver himself. Patrick even provided music for the title track of “You Want It Darker” and took part in three other projects for Leonard Cohen and helped Elton John compose “Someday Out Of The Blue” for the “The Road to El Dorado” soundtrack. There are much more things Leonard’s done – except for a solo record. Yet the veteran’s debur is finally ready for release.
