Tom Rush To Encourage New Growth

Tom Rush would have been considered one of the greatest songwriters of the last century even if he penned – and, of course, performed – only a single piece, “No Regrets,” because this 1968 number has been covered by such different artists as Harry Belafonte, Midge Ure, Olivia Newton-John, Shirley Bassey and THE WALKER BROTHERS, but there are many more classics which the American musician presented to the world over the last six decades, since 1962’s “At The Unicorn” which marked his recording debut. Fast forward to the nearest future, and March 1st, 2024 is to see the release of the then-83-year-old’s umpteenth album.

GO WEST Dust Off Their “Couch”

It’s been a full decade since GO WEST went out to the public with a new release – if, of course, 2012’s
“3D” could be considered new, being a compilation with a few fresh cuts of the duo’s classics – and even on a concert albums’ front, the last title issued by the British pop-rock veterans was 2009’s "Live Robin 2-2003" that they recorded twenty years ago. Yes, 2023 saw Peter Cox deliver a solo offering, yet his and Richard Drummie’s fans should rejoice at the prospect of an expanded edition of the band’s sophomore platter “Dancing On The Couch” on January 26th.

Walter Trout Calls Dee Snider And Beth Hart To Snarl At The World

By his own admission, Walter Trout has always tried to convey positive messages through his music – which somehow went against the grain of the gist of what the blues are about: bemoaning affairs of the heart as well as of woes of the world. Not that the 72-year-old really managed to avoid such matters, “Battle Scars” and “Ordinary Madness” among his platters suggesting as much, yet the veteran’s forthcoming offering, scheduled for release on March 1st, specifically concentrates on existential injustices – and still is optimistic enough to suggest there’s a way to right the wrongs.

THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND Bid Farewell

One of the most remarkable psychedelic garage ensembles to emerge from California in the mid-’50s and fizzle out at the end of the decade only to return to the stage at the end of the millennium and and stay on, THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND might be most remembered for their covers of contemporary rock classics – such as “I’m Not Like Everybody Else” and “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” – although their own numbers – like “Don’t Need Your Lovin’ Anymore” and “No Way Out” – penned by singer David Aguilar were almost just as good. The veterans’ energy fueled each of their records, including the last one, "This Is My Voice" from 2019, yet nothing’s eternal under the moon, and in less than three weeks the current incarnation of the group will bow out for good.

Mitch Ryder Looks Back On His Anniversary Tour

According to Mitch Ryder, music renders one’s age irrelevant, so the legendary singer has never factored in rounds under the sun in his career which started almost six decades ago and carried on, with and without THE DETROIT WHEELS, into the present, the veteran’s last studio album “Georgia Drift” issued earlier this year. Yet his 2020 tour saw the American artist celebrate his 75th birthday, while in Germany whence a concert was recorded – to be released on January 26th.
