When Shania Twain issued her third full-length offering “Come On Over” back in 1997, it was a worldwide smash, the album per se and nine out of the platter’s twelve singles topping charts in different territories and signaling the Canadian chanteuse’s definitive crossover from her original chosen genre, country. Produced and co-penned by Mutt Lange, the record was heard all the time everywhere, as such pieces as “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” frequented TV screens in the form of unforgettable videos. No wonder, there’s going to be a “Diamond Edition” of it, out on August 25th, marking, with a little delay, the platter’s quarter-century anniversary: a nice, if rather flawed, package.
