P. P. Arnold Compiles Hits And Rarities Into Life-Spanning Box Set

Although she was born in the USA, P. P. Arnold became a United Kingdom’s national treasure soon after she left her position as an Ikette and became an integral part of the British rock scene, recording the first version of Cat Stevens’ “The First Cut Is The Deepest” and working alongside SMALL FACES. There were many feats in the singer’s life, including an unreleased album produced by Barry Gibb and featuring Eric Clapton and taking part in multiple prominent platters, and a lot of those adventures found their place on the pages of Patricia’s 2022 autobiography “Soul Survivor” – which lends its title now to the chanteuse’s box set.

A Document Of DEAD BOYS’ Benefit With John Belushi To Be Out

They may not have sported this name back then, but it was in 1975, almost fifty years ago that DEAD BOYS began raising hell on American punk scene – and behind the scenes too. The band’s behavior and stance could be quite dangerous, for the others and for themselves, and it almost cost Johnny Blitz his life, when the musicians got embroiled in a fight with some other group on April 19th, 1978, and somebody stabbed the drummer five times. He pulled through, yet not without the ensemble’s assistance in covering his medical bills by organizing a four-day benefit at CBGB, with a lot of collectives volunteering to support the cause and with the band’s own performance on May 6th recorded – amateurishly enough to languish on the shelf for half a century, if not anymore.

Fernando Perdomo Embarks On A Year-Round Surfing Of Waves

Some creative people feed off the past, others live in the here and now, but Fernando Perdomo always looks forward to the future, thinking about new endeavors he could direct his energy at. While the American artist’s latest adventure, a collaborative effort with Ian Gothe that paid tribute to CAMEL, was out rather recently, his homage to HALL & OATES scheduled for January 10th, and second joint enterprise with Matt Tecu for March 28th, the guitarist is already referring to 2025 as “this year” – and already has another record done and dusted to predate the two forthcoming platters.

THE KORGIS’ Al Steele Offers Addendum To Their “Nations”

Just when one would think THE KORGIS’ "UN-United Nations" might be this year’s best double-barrel offering – the album came in “Blue” and “Red” halves to turn the world affairs on their head with a generous smattering of infectious songs – it has unexpectedly became a trilogy of sorts. Since that record – or those records, if you like – featured a few writers, each of them was bound to end up with some extra material, but looks like Al Steele beat his colleagues to it and finished a whopping eighteen pieces to create, in the company of friends, including another Korgi, James Warren, a separate chapter of the concept – out now.
