And this is what the old friends and collaboration explore on their joint effort “Brasil” that will be released on May 31st.

Chris Slade’s TIMELINE Stitches His Past To The Future

Even by the standards of most celebrated drummers Chris Slade‘s track record is outstanding, as he traversed across more genres than most session musicians, the veteran’s career trajectory seeing him progress from Tom Jones’ group to MANFRED MANN‘S EARTH to URIAH HEEP to THE FIRM and AC/DC. But while playing for and with other legends felt good, there was a great excuse to strike solo in 2012, when THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE came into existence to mark the 50th anniversary of the Welshman’s professional life. Only, for all the concerts this ensemble performed, their discography has been limited to a single EP, “Vol. 1” from 2014, comprised of four cuts the collective’s leader used to deliver onstage during three of his previous stints – and some covers will appear on their first full-length release, titled “Timescape” and consisting of two platters.

RENAISSANCE Discover Previously Unreleased Recordings

RENAISSANCE reissue programme on Esoteric has yet to reach its conclusion with the release of the last two albums the band put out in their original lifespan, 1981’s “Camera Camera” and “Time-Line” from 1983, yet there’s always something that hasn’t been made officially available and that’s begging to delight fans – which is why the box set titled “Can You Hear Me? – Broadcasts 1974-1978” should bring joy to some connoisseurs and disappoint others.

Dana Gillespie Enlists Marc Almond To Produce Covers Album

She’s a national treasure, Dana Gillespie, even if many of her fellow Britons may fail to recognize this fact. With a multifaceted career including the title of the Junior Water Skiing Champion in 1962 and playing Mary Magdalene in the first London production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and spanning across many films and even more records, the lady knows how to elevate an infectious melody by applying her powerful vocals and, what’s no less important, personality to any song, be it original or borrowed tunes. No wonder Dana had the likes of Jimmy Page and David Bowie among her producers, and now their list is extended with the addition of Marc Almond’s name.
